On a lighter note: Goodbye Lenin!

Here is another movie I love that treats of the Est-West separation but in a much lighter way. A woman falls into a coma a little before the fall of the wall , when she eventually wakes up, the world she is in is nothing like the world she left. In the hospital room, the doctors tell her son to avoid any shocking situation as she might die this time. He therefore decides to reconstitute life as it was before the fall of the wall. 1. Some people in my German class like to make fun of this movie. I don't know why. Just enjoy Daniel Brühl's adorable face, man.
I haven't seen it in YEARS but I really do want to rewatch.

  2. I saw this about a year ago and wouldn't mind viewing it again. The soundtrack is wonderful from what I can remember. I also thought it did an excellent job of documenting how quickly things changed after the fall of the Berlin Wall. What an impossible feat it would be to try and hide that from a family member.
